I absolutely love everything you write. Your words bring me right back to Chinon, chatting with you and luxuriating in the ambience of Hotel Diderot. Miss you my friend; looking forward to seeing you again.
This sounds perfect for our grey cold weather. I may have to try it even though Paul is not a great fan of lamb. I would be tempted to add some chickpeas to it as well.
Delicious with the chickpeas! I used lamb shanks because that's all my grocery had. Just braised in the oven and stripped the meat off the bones. Added the carrots and chickpeas in the last hour of cooking. Your recipe does actually have carrots, it says zucchini or 2 carrots.
You are such a natural writer Jamie, it’s like we’re having a conversation together. You paint such lovely details with your words, and I’m drawn into all of it. And as a business owner myself, I feel all of the ups and downs.
Continued healing with your ankle my friend, I hope you’re 100% soon, especially for your trip during your much needed break.
It came out very good! Jacky approves!
Ooooh I'm so happy!

I miss you and wished we had had more time.
I’ll have to make this for Sunday lunch!
Let me know how it comes out. I haven’t made it in ages.
Curiously, your photo shows carrots in the stew, but none are listed in the recipe.
You’re right. Now I’m laughing. It’s from a recipe from my blog…maybe that time I added carrots? Hmm maybe I’ll change the recipe.

Oh use good stewing beef! And add chickpeas, if you like; I love chickpeas. Let me know how it turns out!
