And then the President of France decided it would be a great idea to open up the country for travel, allow the French to leave isolation and go on vacation. I mean, what are the French without vacation, am I right? But my God! We knew it was a bad idea from the get-go. Bad? Absolutely catastrophic!
And so that first summer of 2020, President Macron opened up France from mid-June through the end of August, France’s traditional vacation months - allowing, no, urging the French to go on vacation, letting people loose and out of confinement while purportedly helping the tourism and hospitality sectors to bank an income, which of course allowed the government to skip having to pay out Solidarity Aid during those months. Win-win-win?
